making an impact.
Let's look at the big picture. Human-induced climate change is the result from an increase in the concentration of greenhouse gases, and the increased concentration of these gases results in a warmer planet. The effects of this warmer planet can be seen all around the globe, such as the disappearing sea ice. Humans are not only suffering the consequences, but animals such as the polar bear are as well. There is still hope though. The climate crisis is caused by our actions, and our actions alone is what can also save the planet.
Electronics, if you're done simply unplug them.
Adjust your thermostat. Replace old light bulbs with compact fluorescent light bulbs (CFLs). Conserve water-- take shorter showers and turn the water off when brushing your teeth. |
Time to upgrade? Look for energy saving appliances, electronics, windows, etc.
Drive the speed limit! Keep your car up to par, such as keeping the tires properly inflated. Carpool, ride your bike, walk, or take mass transit. |
If it's time for a new car, buy a used car, or look for a fuel-efficient one.
Bring your lunch instead of driving somewhere. Print double-sided, or don't print at all! Remove your name from direct mailing lists. |
Buy locally, it saves shipping!
Plant trees, and start a garden at home. REDUCE, REUSE, & RECYCLE. Spread the word, every single person can make an impact! |
